VEHICLE RETURN

If you have cancelled your car subscription, drop off your vehicle on the date of termination. After it has been returned, we will properly inspect the car for signs of wear. We understand that the car is now a used vehicle. That's why we want to be clear, right from the start, what is damage or a minor sign of use and what constitutes normal wear and tear (and so is not a problem for us).

Ordinary signs of wear and tear that occur within the context of normal use and the mileage are okay. However, signs of wear or damage caused, for example, by improper or above-average use are excluded. We have listed the most important components – what's okay and what isn't.

PAINT

OKAY

  • Slight surface scratches (can be polished), e.g. in the area of the door handles
  • Typical paint marks from using car washes
  • Slight stone chips (not all the way to the primer), max. 3 instances on the driver-side front

NOT OKAY

  • Scratches that cannot be polished, scratches with serious paint abrasion
  • Damage that requires painting
  • More intense chipping due to stones, down to the primer
  • Avoidable paint damage due to resin and animal droppings, as well as other avoidable natural and environmental influences

BODYWORK

NOT OKAY

  • Dents/bumps > 2 cm in diameter that impact the overall appearance of the vehicle
  • Unrepaired accident damage, hail damage

GLAZING

& LIGHTING

OKAY

  • Tiny isolated stone chips, scratches or chips outside the wiper area that do not negatively affect the outward view
  • Or damage the outer glass layer only superficially and are not longer than 2 mm, a maximum of 5 instances

NOT OKAY

  • Damage to the outer glass layer, down to the plastic layer due to stone impact
  • Leaking headlights or rear lights
  • Impairments that reduce traffic safety
  • Breaks, cracks, holes in the headlights or rear lights or the housing
  • Impacts from stones or chipping

BUMPERS

OKAY

  • Slight rubber abrasion on unpainted bumpers and trim strips which does not result in any visible and permanent deformation
  • Slight abrasion of paint, but not penetrating into the plastic area

NOT OKAY

  • Visible damage in the form of buckling, structural changes in the plastic, cracks, bursts and deformations
  • Deformation of the bumper bracket
  • Missing attachments (e.g. cover of the towing hook)

WHEELS & HUBCAPS

NOT OKAY

  • Large scratches/abrasions without material removal and scratches/ abrasions with material removal
  • Major damage to the paint surface
  • Deformations, breakage

INTERIOR

NOT OKAY

  • Contamination/dirt that cannot be eliminated by normal cleaning
  • Odours, e.g. due to mould
  • Missing, broken, or insufficiently fastened functional parts (e.g. door handles, sun visors, cigarette lighter, door or boot cladding)
  • Damage, e.g. fire damage, holes, cracks
  • Smell from cigarettes/cigars/use of pipe/e-cigarettes

THE FOLLOWING SHOULD BE INSIDE THE VEHICLE ON RETURN

Before returning the car, please use the checklist to ensure that you and your loved ones have left all documents and the accessories that were included on delivery inside the car:

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS ARE INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE:  

  • Service book, logbook, operating instructions
  • Registration certificate, part 1 (former vehicle registration)
  • First aid kit, warning triangle, safety vest
  • Spare tyre (if available) or repair kit
  • Navigation CD/DVD and SD card
  • Certificate of main and exhaust emissions inspection
  • Removed seats and benches
  • Vehicle accessories as per delivery
  • Key
  • Vehicle tool kit
  • Luggage compartment cover and luggage compartment separation net
  • Other electronic data carriers
  • General operating licence (ABE)
